The OPPONENTS of same - sex marriage should be treated as second - class citizens. They are un - American and are against progress. They are just as bad as the slave - owners of the 18th century.

David Zornetsky:

It is so frustrating that the majority of the people of Maine are against the Constitution, which provides equality for ALL. We could have allowed same – sex marriage in that state (and all states) long ago, because there is no such thing as “not being ready” for change. For example, European countries have abolished the death penalty despite public opposition to doing so, and nothing bad happened. There were no civil wars or widespread violence. There were no economic recessions. If THEY can go against public
opinion in favor of doing what is right, then so can WE! THAT is why change can happen at ANY time – because society will get used to it in good time. FIRST allow equality of marriage (and ENDA, DOMA, etc.), THEN let the public come to accept it.

Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins (R-KS) didn't answer my question when I asked her if she would support the bill, she simply emailed me back and told me that the bill had been referred to the judiciary committee and she doesn't sit on that committee, but that if it came out of committee she would keep my thoughts in mind. SO FRUSTRATING!

Ironic that only one Republican is leaning yes...all others are either leaning no or unknown which seems to equate to no... only one Republican has the courage to vote as an individual instead of a collective body of "no"...let's hear it for Kirk, Mark Steven R IL-10 202-225-4835...hopefully he can stand by his convinctions for equality under the barrage of naysayers that make up the Republican party...prejudice in any form is plain and simply wrong...so guys and gals in congress, vote to repeal DOMA and take another step to full equality for all.

Congresswoman Jackson Lee thinks it is important to Sponsor Legislation for Irritable Bowel Syndrome, but can't find the time to CoSponsor HR 3567 to repeal Doma. Makes NO sense to me.

Our bowels are quite fine Congresswoman Lee, but how about doing something for your GLBT constituents NOW by Cosponsoring this legislation.
