WHO ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE DALLAS PRINCIPLES?

Champions are those who believe in and spread the word about The Dallas Principles and their call for full immediate LGBT civil rights, and who commit to taking action to make that happen.

HOW DO I BECOME A CHAMPION OF THE DALLAS PRINCIPLES?

Champions demonstrate their commitment via any number of ways such as having a history of long time activism in the LGBT movement, undertaking significant efforts to advance equality, posting multiple insightful blog posts and/or helpful actions on the Act On Principles website, or by having a prominence that will bring special focus on LGBT civil equality to a broad audience, among many other ways. However, being a champion is not  a reward for past activity – it is a commitment to champion equality through promotion of the Dallas Principles and to take action for equality.

There is no nomination process for Champions. Potential champions identify themselves following the process outlined below.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF BEING A CHAMPION?

1. Champions can post immediately to the blog or submit an action without waiting for editorial review
2. Champions have access to a dedicated listserv for quick exchanges of ideas with other Champions
3. Champions  can participate in occasional conference calls with the other Champions to discuss how to achieve LGBT equality now
4. Champions receive recognition on our website with bio and picture
5. Champions have a personal webpage in ActOnPrinciples.org with links to all their posts, actions, and comments

HOW DO I IDENTIFY MYSELF TO BE LISTED AS A CHAMPION?

If you believe in and commit to spreading the word about The Dallas Principles and their call for full immediate LGBT civil rights, commit to taking action to make that happen, and want to be listed on this site as a Champion:

1. Register on the site if you have not done so already
2. Login
3. Go to Profile and complete all of this information (which will be visible to visitors to the site)
   - First name and last name
   - Display name: Show your first name and last name—not your username
   - Bio information (100 words max)
   - Upload your headshot
   - Title and organization
   - City and state
   - Do not forget to click on Update Profile to save the changes
4. Sign up for the daily email digest of the latest actions and information
5. After completing the four steps above, contact us indicating also if another Champion has asked you to join
