Take Action: Fight Back New York puts homophobic New York State Senator Stachowski on hit list A gay rights group, Fight Back NY, is joining the campaign against Eerie County Democratic State Sen. William T. Stachowski of Lake View by blanketing Erie County voters with a mailing that urges his defeat. FightBackNY, an organization that favors gay marriage, said Tuesday that it is distributing the fliers in the same way that it campaigned against now-expelled Sen. Hiram Monserrate of Queens. The flier makes no specific mention of Stachowski’s vote against legalizing same-sex marriage but indicates that his re-election would not be expected to yield a different result. However, an e-mail accompanying the announcement of the campaign and seeking financial support said Stachowski has consistently voted against the interests of the gay community. “Sen. Stachowski voted against lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender New Yorkers at every turn, whether it’s nondiscrimination protections or marriage equality,” the e-mail said. “Sen.
