We must be lead by "ideas," inspiring, smart and effective ideas. Our dysfunctional movement has been doing the same thing for 50 years. Many of us were enrolled in "political efforts" only to be discouraged by the political realities. Now, only ten percent of our community even participates. We will not have a "movement" or the hope for full equality - until that changes. At some point our community needs to be painfully honest about exactly where we are and where we want to get - WITH A DEADLINE. "One of these days" no longer inspires action or hope. The conversation has to refocus and switch to "winning our equality," not more of the same tried-and-untrue tactics and strategies. We are way to diverse for a single leader – a Martin Luther King.
